Silky Dogwood with Cedar Waxwings- Red feather variant-watercolor on
paper.  Silky Dogwood (Cornus amomum) is a medium sized shrub which
produces blue drupes which are favored by many birds.  Cedar Waxwings
(Bombycilla cedrorum) are very social birds, and it is not uncommon to see
flocks working together to strip fruit from trees.  Both the silky dogwood and
the cedar waxwing are native to New England. A flock of waxwings in
Hatfield, Massachusetts were the muse for this piece.  $300
